Approve Please
A short browser game where you’re the overworked engineer whose whole job is reviewing GitHub pull requests. Approve fast, catch bugs, don’t get fired. Available in English and Spanish.
Step into Release Ops and survive a week on code review duty.
From 9:00 to 17:00, your whole job is triaging an endless queue of pull requests. Approve clean diffs to keep features shipping, but catch the risky ones before they explode in production — and before your manager loses patience.
Balance three competing meters to keep your job:
- 🧯 Production Stability – Too many bugs in prod and things start catching fire.
- 🚀 Delivery Velocity – Say “no” too often and you’ll be blamed for blocking the roadmap.
- 📊 Manager Satisfaction – Walk the tightrope between speed and safety… or get fired.
Each in-game day brings new rules and trickier PRs: security crackdowns, performance scares, missing tests, rushed hotfixes, and more. Read the diff, spot the bug patterns, and decide: Approve or Request changes?
Features
- Papers Please–style judgment gameplay, but for GitHub pull requests.
- Short workday loops (9–17h) with building pressure and PR waves.
- Three meters to manage: stability, velocity, and job security.
- Choose your preferred stack flavor: TypeScript, Python, Java, or Rust.
- Playable in the browser, no install required.
- 💾 Open source – check out the code and contribute on GitHub: https://github.com/llamojha/approve-please

haha I like the background story but maybe add a little tutorial? it is really confusing(especially with the time pressure)
and maybe add a more clear result page after each decision player made so player know exactly if they did it correctly or not.
also.. this is not a game for non-coder right :P? I mean it is soooo hard lol
love the simplicity of the UI
thank you!! I do have a tutorial on the works but ran out of time for the GameOff2025. I should lower the difficulty a bit as I think is a very 'startup experience' right now haha
